Event Location Doctors Charter School of Miami Shores will be hosting its Second Annual Tablet Fund Event on October 4, 2013. The school is collaborating with Steven Haas owner of City Hall - The Restaurant to provide a Retro Night event that promises to please the masses. The evening will include a premium open bar, a variety of gourmet foods, silent auction and a live DJ.
 
The event is the second event hosted by the Charter School to fund an electronic tablet initiative which will work toward having a tablet in the hands of every student at the school. “This is an amazing opportunity for the entire community to join forces to help bring Doctors Charter School to the forefront in the highly competitive educational arena in which we now participate,” said Gary Meredith, Executive Director. “The technology purchased with these funds will enable us to level the playing field so our students can continue to rank among the best in the country.”
 
Moroccan Nights was the first event held last May which profited over $17,000.00 and the hope is that this event will be able to raise even more. “The decision to move the event to the beginning of the year had a two- fold purpose. We felt that it would allow our new parents coming in the opportunity to meet other parents and would also afford us the luxury of raising enough funds to be able to launch a small pilot program during the second semester which will most likely include a bring your own device option to lower overall costs,” said Ellen Bonet, Development Director.
 
The event will take place at City Hall-The Restaurant located at 2004 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33137 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Ticket price per person is $100.00 and all persons who purchase tickets prior to September 27, 2013 will receive a VIP membership card from City Hall as a special thank you. This card entitles the holder to a 10% discount at the restaurant and bar.
